Hi, I run Bloom Counselling & Play Therapy, a clinical practice dedicated to the noble art of holding space for the absolute wreckage that is modern existence.
I hold an Honours degree in Psychology (awarded Cum Laude—a fancy label for "I have studied the darkest corners of the human psyche") & I am a certified play therapist. In practice, this means I spend my days interpreting the deep, existential meaning behind why a 5-year-old just buried a plastic cat named Fudge in the sand tray. I am a master of the "Upstairs/Downstairs" brain, a connoisseur of nervous system dysregulation.
People often ask if my office is "sparkly." Let me be clear: My professional life is currently held together by a thin layer of craft glue & high-grade clinical expertise. I have come to accept that glitter is my new skin tone. It is a permanent accessory, a shimmering reminder that life is messy, uncontainable, & occasionally sparkles when you least expect it. If you walk into my office, you will leave with glitter on your sleeve. Consider it a souvenir from your session—a tiny, physical manifestation of the fact that we did the work & we survived the mess.
Why trust me? Because I know exactly what it’s like to be on the other side of the couch.
I am a wife, a mother of two, & a human who understands that "self-care" is sometimes just locking yourself in the bathroom to stare at the wall for four minutes of silence. My approach is rooted in clinical science, but it’s fueled by the raw, messy, beautiful reality of being a functioning adult in a world that is clearly falling apart.
My promise: You bring the unmitigated disaster of your current nervous system. I’ll bring the clinical tools, the non-judgmental ears, & a professional-grade capacity to handle whatever mess you’ve got.
